Whatever you celebrate, we hope you have fun!
. . .
Twas the week before Christmas, when all ‘cross the floor
All the puppets were stirring as JP wished them more:
“May your stockings be stuffed with all sort of treats,
Like kisses, and hugs, and holiday sweets!”
They should have been nestled in snug puppet beds,
But visions of sugarplums danced in their heads!
And Judy was sewing, still hard at her work –
With Christmas this close, she didn’t dare shirk!
But the puppets all cried, “it’s not one of us!”
Away to the window Judy flew like a flutter,
Pulling the curtains, knocked back the shutter –
When, what to her system she got such a shock, e-
-ven he, ever flapping away, was dear Rocky!
“Now, Judy! now, Baby! Now, Willow and Hans!
WebSpider, Crackerjack, look at the lawns!
It’s Santa! It’s he! And his reindeer and sleigh!
But they’re gathering speed; they’re flying away!
To the foot of the stairs! to the end of the hall!
Now dash away! chase him down! come one and all!”
But JP murmured “No” and she opened the pane
And took Rocky inside before he went insane.
“It’s a week before Christmas, and Santa has days
Before he’s due here. We’ll have fun anyways.”
So Hans trimmed the tree, while Willow hung lights,
WebSpider hung garlands, and Rocky gasped at the sights!
His eyes – how they twinkled! his wing-flaps – how merry!
And he saw that his panic was unnecessary.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to the star
Flying up top on the tree, sighed: “There you are!”
And they heard him exclaim, as the star glittered bright,
“It’s a week until Christmas – I think we’ll be all right!”
